Training and coaching, because your story deserves to be heard.
As lifelong writers, we are fervent believers in the power of words to articulate our thoughts, process our feelings, and connect with others. Yet the last four years have shown us that a scripted podcast has an even greater power to transform us — and a richer emotional connection for listeners — than writing alone.
Whether you call it a fiction podcast, narrative podcast, or story podcast, we say “voice your story, change your life” because we’ve lived it ourselves. Your voice, and your experience, are one in eight billion. We can’t wait to hear your stories.
"Not only do they provide such a wealth of knowledge from their own experiences and training, but they create and foster such a wonderful and inclusive space for learning."
— Stevie Manns, spring 2022 podcast course & 2022 IWPA shortlist

What is a narrative podcast?
Our definition is these three elements:
-
An inviting story
While interview shows (like any conversation), often meander, narrative podcasts create a sense of direction and going somewhere by employing universal aspects of successful stories: characters, setting, conflict, and resolution.
-
A well-written script
The first key element that gives narrative podcasts their artfulness, and sets them apart from interview and other unscripted shows, is that voiceover has been written (and edited!) in advance.
-
A crafted soundscape
With careful audio editing (removing breaths and filler words), and enhancement with music and sound effects, narrative podcasts create an experience where every minute counts and contributes.
“Unbelievably helpful and taught me way more than I ever expected … a thorough curriculum that helped me figure out how to podcast from A-Z. Seriously!”
— Na’ama Firestone, spring ‘22 podcast course
